Meet the Midwife
Hello! I am Carly Bev Robertson, a Nationally Certified Professional Midwife, Licensed to practice in the great state of Texas, serving communities in and around North Austin.
The call to midwifery came after years of exploring alternative and holistic wellness, specifically surrounding endocrine health. Coming from the bright and colorful backgrounds of nanny work and teaching dance, I eventually landed in what felt so very right- birth work.
I studied through the Association of Texas Midwives Midwifery Training Program and worked as a full-time apprentice midwife in a thriving home birth practice in New Braunfels, TX. During my training, I also certified as a birth and postpartum doula through Doula Trainings International, attended the instructor training through Dancing for Birth, and became a member of The Association of Texas Midwives.
Shortly after graduating midwifery school, my sweet husband and I moved back to our home town of North Austin. I began setting up my practice, while simultaneously assisting other midwives within the community and working part time at a lovely local birth center.
After settling down in charming Taylor, TX — our little family grew by one more with the incredible blessing of our son, Samuel. He is such an amazing goofball and being his momma has been one of the greatest joys of my life.
With a mantra of “growing is forever,” I am continuously learning and stretching with deep roots and upward strength — as an individual, as a wife, as a mother, and as a midwife as part of the amazing community of Central Texas.
I am currently trained in first aid, CPR, and AED, certified through The American Heart Association. I am also currently trained and certified in Neonatal Resuscitation through the American Academy of Pediatrics.
I have taken the Advanced Life Support for Obstetrics training, Trauma Informed Care for Birth Professionals Training, and more…
I consistently study varying topics as means of continuing education to stay up to date on current research, as well as a means to continue integrating traditional midwifery techniques and wisdom.
